Friday five favourite: Pixar shorts
26 08 2016One of the joys of going to see a Pixar film at the cinema, is that you get to watch a short first, and generally you forget until you’re on the way and you think, oo, I wonder what it’ll be this time! You have a vague idea of the film you’re going to see, but this is a totally unknown treat to warm you up.
Over the years there have been some classics, but I do have favourites. I found some of them on youtube, for others I’ve just had to put the trailer, but you can find them on the Pixar Short DVDs they sell, or I think on the DVDs of the films they were in cinema with. (A full list of Pixar shorts and their relative feature length films can be found here)
I went to see Finding Dory last week, and really enjoyed that short, though it’s not listed below because in a way it feels too soon to decide if it’s a classic!

Friday [or Sunday] Five Favourite: Tips for the perfect afternoon nap
29 05 2016I’m getting pretty pro at the Sunday afternoon nap – today’s was amazing because it was intentional as a reward for getting up for the early service at church. I’ve put together what I think are the key points behind the ideal afternoon nap.
- Have a really big hot lunch
- Have a really sweet pudding and wait for the sugar crash to follow
- Try to read a book
- While under a blanket
- And don’t set an alarm – you’ll feel so much better if you wake naturally
Any other suggestions? What makes the best nap?!

30 10 2015I love a bit of comedy, who doesn’t?! I’ll nearly always pick something light to watch over something heavy. I’d say my list of favourite comedians is quite mixed – some very mainstream, some much more obscure that you may well not have heard of (unless I’ve talked your ear off about them already!) Maybe you’ll find something new that you like here today! In most cases I’ve just picked one clip per comedian, but if you like it, go on Youtube to find more!
